As part of the "Green Besni" project initiated by the Erdemoğlu Family, 400 thousand saplings will meet the soil with the work of the Besni Municipality.

In 2014-2015 and 2016, municipal teams continue to be planting saplings in every region of Besni so that around 400 thousand trees can reach the soil.

Mayor İbrahim Öztürk, who made a statement on the subject, says, “Currently, approximately 51,500 trees will have been planted in our Besni district by both our municipality and the Forestry Management Directorate. If we plant the trees, we have procured within 10-15 days, we will have planted around 51 thousand 500 trees, "he said.

Explaining that they are doing a serious afforestation work around the faculty campus and on the skirts around it, Öztürk said:

"It continues now. At the same time, afforestation works continues rapidly in all our neighborhoods. Without burdening these trees to the municipal budget, we have carried out this work with selected trees that we have procured from our Elazig Regional Directorate of Forestry, Adana Regional Directorate of Forestry, Şanlıurfa Regional Directorate of Forestry and Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality. We will have planted a total of 125 thousand trees in 2014 and 2015 by these works, which were also pioneered by Merinos last year. Our goal is to plant 150 thousand trees in the neighborhood and on all the skirts of Besni, by making preparations in the summer in 2016, and entering the procurement committee in the summer. In other words, we hope that these 150 thousand trees will be planted in our district in these three years by evaluating all points and calculating this tree work in 2016.

AFFORESTATION OF THE GÖLBAŞI ROUTE

Reminding the afforestation works in the district, Öztürk said:

"Besides that, again, we aim to plant 100 thousand trees in 2016 within plans of our Regional Directorate of Forestry for 2016, on the ring road route, Gölbaşı road route, Adıyaman road route, Kayaardı region, Cüneyt Dede region, at our University campus, with our reinforcements in the gendarmerie region with support of our Regional Directorate of Forestry. In total, we will bring nearly 400 thousand trees to our Besni, with the work of our Regional Directorate of Forestry in these three years, paying attention to the pioneering role of the Green Besni Project in this regard, and in line with goals and purposes of the Project “Green Besni".  We are already carrying out this work as a municipality, but the fact that Merinos pioneered us in this matter has added a special excitement and added value to our city. I hope that their horizons and excitement give us excitement and light both in the Green Besni project and in Besni about the university. I submit my endless gratitude to them on behalf of myself and my country. We are looking forward to the Green Besni with hope together.
