Merinos exports carpets to more than 100 countries
Yılmaz stated that the company exports carpets to more than 100 countries and that they produce machine-made carpets, tufting, and yarn in three main categories.
Stating that their export figures for 2023 are 500 million dollars, Yılmaz said the following about the new investments they are planning: "We can evaluate our investment in two stages. Investment has been made in 15 state-of-the-art looms for the first stage carpet production. These looms are equipped with the highest technology. In addition, investments have been made in polyester spinning machines for those looms. The total cost of these investments is approximately 50 million dollars. In the second stage, we have a PET Resin facility. We shortly call it the MTR facility. The total cost of these investments is 250 million dollars. With this investment with an annual capacity of 360 thousand tons, we will meet the demand of multiple sectors in the region, especially textile, packaging, clothing, and food, with our MTR PET Resin facility, on which work started in 2023 and which is planned to be operational in the 2nd quarter of 2025."
“Our target is not to leave any waste behind in our production process.”
Mentioning that their products have spread all over the world through chain markets, especially in Europe, the US, and the UK, Yılmaz stated that they use recycled products in many product groups. Yılmaz said, “The recycled products we produce generally appear as classic, modern, shaggy, and children's groups. As we are an integrated facility with recycling, yarn production and carpet production processes, we continue to be a leading company in imitableness and competitiveness. We conduct our R&D studies in all of our polyester product groups. Our target is to design our production processes from the beginning to the end, to leave no waste behind, and to have a recyclable product production facility. In addition, we conduct research on Recycle PP and Ocean Cycle products and raise awareness among the customers and the market with our R&D studies."
